THE COMPANY

Flamenco Underground was founded by Natalia in 2011 offering shows with live Flamenco music, singing and dancing with local artists and also bringing artists from other parts in the USA and from Spain. Flamenco Underground shows are “Tablao” style, like in Spain. Improvisation is always part of the show as well as interaction with the audience.

THE DIRECTOR

Natalia Perez del Villar is a Flamenco dancer from Spain. Natalia was the artistic director of “Embrujo Flamenco” for 5 years, preparing and directing all her shows. She also worked with Pablo Rodarte in his company Dance España as a soloist dancer. Natalia has studied flamenco with Iván Bravo, Matilde Coral, Rafael “el negro”, Marisol Moreno, Adriana Maresma, La China, Pablo Rodarte and Juana Amaya among others. Natalia teaches how to dance flamenco as well as how to understand the rhythms, structure of the singing and dancing, and the difference between the palos (or styles) of flamenco, also putting emphasis is learning palmas (clapping) and improvisation.
